In a landmark event marking a significant stride towards regional collaboration in sustainability, the ISCN-LATAM Chapter held its first in-person meeting on June 7th, 2023. Hosted amidst the vibrant backdrop of Mexico City during the second day of the 2023 annual ISCN Conference, the gathering convened 24 enthusiastic participants from 15 leading universities across Latin America. The meeting re-ignited the flame of collaboration and innovation concerted in fostering sustainability across the region.

 

From the outset, it was evident that the participants were driven by a shared vision of creating a more sustainable future for Latin America. The meeting, characterized by dynamic discussions and a palpable sense of camaraderie, was guided by a set of ambitious objectives aimed at laying the foundation for a robust regional discourse on sustainability. Through a collaborative brainstorming session, key action outcomes emerged from the meeting, providing a roadmap for future endeavours:
