Our Mission

The mission of the ISCN-LATAM Chapter is to provide a regional network to support leading Latin American colleges and universities in the exchange of information, ideas, and best practices for achieving sustainable campus operations and integrating sustainability in research and teaching. The ISCN-LATAM Chapter also seeks to foster joint sustainability projects and initiatives among higher education institutions, while supporting engagement and outreach to the communities in which they serve.

About the Chapter

The ISCN Latin American Chapter was established as a key outcome of the 2019 ISCN Conference in São Paulo, founded on the belief that higher education institutions play a vital role in advancing a sustainable future. A Steering Committee formed in 2021 led the development of the Chapter, culminating in the 2022 ISCN-LATAM Strategic Plan and the formal launch of the Chapter. Today, the Chapter provides a regional platform for Latin American colleges and universities to accelerate sustainability through collaboration, knowledge exchange, and connection to the global ISCN community.

Our Work

The ISCN-LATAM Chapter supports participants by providing a regional forum that facilitates the exchange of ideas, enables access to shared resources, promotes policies and programs, and creates talent cultivation opportunities that allow the implementation of joint projects for regional sustainability.
